Synthetic hairpieces are beautiful, practical, and durable — provided they are well-maintained. Here is a simple and effective guide to washing a synthetic hairpiece without damaging it.
To properly clean your synthetic hairpiece, you will need:
💡 Never use hot water: it damages the fibers.
Detangle gently, starting from the ends, then the lengths, and finally the roots.
👉 Use a wide-tooth comb or a special brush for synthetic fibers.
Never pull out knots: separate them slowly with your fingers.
Add a small amount of shampoo for fibers.
Let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes without rubbing.
Gently sway the fiber in the water to remove dust and product buildup.
⚠️ Never rub as you would with natural hair: the fibers would tangle.
Empty the basin and refill it with clean cold water.
Rinse by gently submerging and lifting the hairpiece until the shampoo is gone.
In a new basin of cold water, add the special fiber conditioner.
Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse lightly.
