All hair has its own uniqueness – they haveunique characteristics that set them apart. This characteristic must be treated with particular attention as hair needs a precise routine and care according to its nature. For good and strong hair, it needs a thorough understanding of the hair type.
There are 4 Types of Hair:
Hair shapes do not differ between men's and women's hair, short hair and long hair. Note that if you have bangs, they will have the same shape as your hair.
Curly, frizzy and coily hair is generally easy to recognize, but if you are not sure of your hair shape, simply wet your hair and scrunch it, then let it air dry or use a hair dryer with a diffuser. If your hair remains straight, it is smooth; if it has movement, it is either wavy or curly, so you need to adapt your routine to your hair with specific curly hair care products to take care of your hair fiber.
For wigs, we determine the type and shape of the hair to make it simpler for you.
Good to know: if you have lost your hair (chemo, pregnancy, alopecia), it can grow back with a different shape and/or hair type, but in the meantime, take care of your scalp!

To know your hair type, you need to know the shape of your hair, so once you have determined its shape, we can talk about hair type. There are6 types of hair:
Hair types are named according to "origins" to recognize them, but today, with the mixing of populations, any hair type can be yours (example in the photo below: European with Afro hair).
Also note that no matter your hair type, you can have blonde, brown, and even red hair.

If you have dense, tightly coiled curls, you most likely have Afro hair. Afro hair needs constant hydration (mask, treatment, oil, etc.), and a special routine should be implemented. Any heat should be avoided as it damages the hair too much, but to protect Afro hair, you can use protective styles as shown below, or wear a wig.

Sebum is naturally secreted by the hair's sebaceous gland to hydrate your hair, regardless of its type.
The difference between oily, dry, or normal hair is theamount of sebum secreted.
When you have oily hair, it gets greasy quickly. This can be caused by a fungus creating oily dandruff (treatment is necessary), overly frequent shampoos, or even too much stimulation of the scalp.
If you have normal hair, it means the sebum is in good quantity and you don't wash your hair too often; your hair doesn't get greasy quickly.
If you have a dry scalp, you don't have enough sebum, which leads to dry dandruff and your scalp may itch. A specific shampoo can help, and hair hydration will be essential.
Some tips for your hair: To have beautifully shiny hair and avoid damage, we advise you to preserve your hair cuticles by avoiding coloring your hair or coloring it too often (once a month). To prevent fragile or brittle hair, we recommend detangling it with appropriate brushes such as boar bristle brushes, Tangle Teezer, detangling brushes, as well as combs suited to their use.
