Pink October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

3 min read

Throughout the month of October, the Eiffel Tower shines with pink light. At its launch, the event was part of a movement that has been renamed Pink October. The pink month is also associated with an important cancer research campaign through various awareness initiatives. The pink month has led to a vastawareness campaign for cancer prevention.

Screening during Pink October

Pink October starts on October 1st and ends on October 31st.

Today, breast cancer screening is very important because it is the cancer that kills the most women. Breast cancer screening is very simple, and the earlier the cancer is detected, the greater the chances of recovery. Screening should begin at age 30, every 6 months or 1 year, not forgetting self-palpation of the breasts for prevention.

So during Pink October, we invite all women to undergo screening. For women between 50 and 74 years old, an "organized screening" takes place; an invitation letter for screening is sent to you with a list of covered practitioners near you so that you can get screened for free.

Rapid screenings allow for betterremission in cases of breast cancer.

One should not confuse cancer symptoms with the side effects of cancer treatment. It is indeed the treatment that causes or does not cause hair loss, hair thinning, or gaps in the hair.

During this month, you can get involved in breast cancer awareness by educating your loved ones, friends, and customers with awareness kits, informative brochures, or even by listening to podcasts and shows about breast cancer to support this cause and call for mammograms every two years.
