How to Apply Clip-in Hair Extensions?

Clip-in extensions are increasingly popular because they can beapplied in three minutes and removed easily. They are attached to the hair with simple clips. Clip-in extensions can be used by those who want a temporary change, for an event (evening weddings, etc.), or by those who wish to have long hair every morning.

Minimum Length for Extensions:

The hair length limit depends on one thing: whether the extension clips can be hidden in your hair or not. If your hair is too short to hide the base of the extension, we advise against clip-in extensions. Wait until your hair is longer and thicker. For long hair, it depends on yourvolume. If you don't have much volume (fine/straight hair), extensions can add volume and look very pretty for a hairstyle, to change your look. But if you have sufficiently long and thick hair, they can only serve as decoration, for highlights, and to avoid damaging your hair with dye, as shown in the picture below:

When styling with hair extensions, the limit is your imagination. You can create buns, ponytails, braids, have straight hair, curly hair, bangs... the main thing is toproperly apply the hair extensions so that the clips are not visible and they blend harmoniously for a beautiful hairstyle. It doesn't matter whether they are natural hair extensions or synthetic hair extensions; the main thing is that your hairpiece is of good quality to look natural.

How to Apply Extensions in 6 Steps:

To apply clip-in extensions (human or synthetic hair), first, you must:

• Prepare your hair and the extensions (straighten or curl, detangle)
• Create a part in your hair at the back of your head, but not too low on the nape
• Open the clips
• Place them at the edge of your scalp's root (backcomb the root a little if needed), and close them.
• Untie your hair and check that the hair extensions or hairpiece are properly placed
• Repeat on the sides and back if necessary until you have enough length and volume in your hair or you run out of clip-in extensions.
• Style your hair so that the clip-in hair extensions blend harmoniously and the difference with your natural hair is not visible, and the hair extensions merge with your hair mass.

A little tip if you have a side part is to place a small extension on the side of your movement to createa natural effect with volume.

How to Apply Extensions to Short Hair?

To apply clip-in extensions to short hair, the steps are the same, except that before attaching each extension, we recommend that youbackcomb the roots of your hair so that the clips do not slip and hold better.

And our extra tip is to apply your extensions at least the day after your shampoo because clean hair tends to "slip" and hold styles less effectively.

How to Remove Hair Extensions?

To remove extensions, it's very simple: start with the clip-in extension that is placed highest, then the one lowest. To avoid hurting yourself, remove themclip by clip, gently, without pulling. Once they are all removed, gently brush your hair and the extensions as well, apply an oil or a treatment to your hair, and if the extension hair is natural hair, do the same (natural hair extensions).

To wash the extensions, do the same as for your wig and use a specific product according to the type of hairpiece: Natural extensions / Synthetic extensions.
